DIY Entertainment

Long flights can feel endless without proper entertainment, especially if the in-flight entertainment system fails, as it has done to me many a time.

To stay entertained, download your favourite movies, TV shows, podcasts or e-books onto your device before take-off, just in case. Remember fortune favours the prepared. Do this plenty of time before you go away on holiday as you don’t want to be doing this last minute at the airport where there might be poor reception and potentially use all your battery.

This way, you’re not reliant on the airline’s selection or potential connectivity issues. Whether it’s an exciting series, an intriguing audiobook, or a playlist of your go-to podcasts, pre-downloaded content ensures you’ll have something enjoyable to pass the time and make your journey fly by! Don’t forget your headphones and a fully charged device—pack a power bank or charging cable compatible with in-seat outlets to keep your gadgets powered throughout the flight!

TOP TIP: If your media console isn’t working on the flight make sure you immediately tell the air steward/stewardess politely. That way if it can’t be fixed you are at the front of the queue when it comes to moving seats to a working media console. This saved me on a recent flight to Singapore.
