It’s tempting to bring your most stylish footwear, but before you pack those pristine killer trainers or designer shoes, think carefully about where you’re going. If your itinerary involves uneven ground, potential mud or unpredictable weather—which is highly likely on any adventure—those expensive shoes will quickly be ruined.
Unless you have the luggage allowance for multiple pairs, stick to sturdy, comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit grubby. A ruined pair of beloved sneakers or delicate leather footwear isn’t worth the brief fashion statement, so keep the fancy stuff for the right occasion and save your luggage space for something more essential.
